To set peace upon the physical political turmoil we were experiencing over the weekend, I came bearing gifts.
A glorious gift wrapped in a R2 Billion glass/metallicish building, that is the Sasol HQ, where the new signatures competition was annouced.

The competition this year seeks to enhance the talent of young South African contemporary artists, and It is more focused on the discovery of new artists. The in depth beauty of this competition is like the internet, the potential growth of every artist is infinite.
The beauty of this year's event is that it allows a lot more participants to enter which gives more people an opportunity to add a 'handsome' value to their work. Value you ask, to most it is determined by an idealistic result which for most is winning or - for a more formal term 'success' but consider how destructive the very concept of that thought is.
The idea of the event is to nurture the existing talent of our youth and raise awareness as well as to groom the creatives to come. I believe if we were to stick to such a concept the entire world would not produce material for a specific goal merely to achieve a distinct result. The aim here to is provide a 'mental break-through' in artistic expression.
