Sasol plays an instrumental role by creating opportunities and encouraging artists to have a limitless approach to contemporary art.
They have become synonymous with supporting the visual arts through providing emerging artists with a sponsorship that enables them to start their careers.
This year, Sasol New Signatures Art Competition (a competition that has been in existence for nearly half a century) seeks to introduce a universal theme within the visual arts and as the universal theme – art has a limitless ability to inspire, educate, challenge and certainly shape society.
The final round of judging takes place at the Pretoria Art Museum on Wednesday 8 August 2018 and the winner of the Sasol New Signatures Art Competition will be announced on Wednesday 29 August 2018 at a gala event, after which the winning works will displayed at the prestigious Pretoria Art Museum from Thursday 30 August 2018 to Sunday, 7 October 2018.
The winner will receive R100 000 and a solo exhibition at next year’s exhibition, with the runner up winning R25 000 and the five merit award winners R10 000 each.
